Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position works in the Organizational Strategy Management (OSM) office at the Florida Department of Health in Miami‑Dade County (DOH‑MDCH). The responsibilities assigned to the role carry a high level of accountability and require independently making decisions while operating within established policies, laws, rules, and guidelines. Assignments are broad in both scope and objectives, requiring sound judgment and the ability to identify solutions without direct supervision.

The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and departmental information and is granted authorized, "need‑to‑know" access to confidential personnel records and related databases.

Handles OPS recruitment and onboarding by answering HR‑related questions, managing full‑cycle OPS recruitment, coordinating fingerprints, background checks, onboarding appointments, posting job advertisements, contacting candidates, collecting new‑hire forms, submitting FL Health Desk recruitment tickets, and preparing offer letters.

Performs administrative purchasing and program support by processing purchase orders for promotional items, training activities, school fairs, furniture, facilities requests tied to grants or administrative needs, and organizing, tracking, and managing warehouse promotional item inventory and storage.

Tracks recruitment status by monitoring FL Health Desk for OPS recruitment updates, tracking submissions, forms, candidate progress, and overall recruitment movement.

Manages volunteer and intern recruitment by coordinating TB tests, fingerprints, background checks, attestation letters, and processing separation tickets for non‑FTE volunteers and interns.

Oversees Swimming Voucher Program management through tracking voucher usage, coordinating with partner organizations, maintaining voucher inventory and related financial tracking, and attending meetings to provide program updates.

Conducts recruitment outreach and community engagement by attending job fairs, coordinating attendance dates, setting up tables, managing related purchase orders, and carrying out community outreach efforts to support OPS hiring.

Serves as backup for the Training portion of New Hire Orientation by setting up accounts, providing instructions, and assisting new hires with first‑time system access.

Provides employee  by taking photos, printing IDs, processing replacements and updates, and delivering IDs to employees.

Supports HR requests, documentation, and verification needs by completing employment verification letters, PSLF forms, HR ticket submissions, and responding to assignments submitted through the OSM Footprints system according to established standards.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, and personnel information systems.

* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes assessment of customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

* Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

* Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.

* Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

* Skills and Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications such as Excel, Word, Visio and power point.

Qualifications:

Minimum
- Experience in Human Resources.

Preferred
- Incumbent in this position is preferred to be bilingual in English and Spanish.
