About The Job

The People and Culture Manager plays a key role in supporting both our people and our business. This role oversees all areas of People and Culture, including associate relations, benefits, compliance, staffing, and workers compensation, while also designing our training programs and developing compensation plans. In addition, the People and Culture Manager manages our HR systems and budget to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What You Do
  • Supervise and mentor People and Culture Coordinator & Recruiting Manager
  • Collaborate with corporate payroll and the resort to ensure accurate and timely associate compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations including OSHA and EEO-1 reporting.
  • Lead Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, celebrating diverse cultural observances.
  • Develop communication materials such as training and DEI calendars.
  • Ensure accuracy of associate data in ADP and processing of Personal Action Forms.
  • Partner with People & Culture and Security Director to maintain a safe work environment, including Safety Committee Meetings and compliance training.
  • Address associate inquiries, legal requests, and concerns promptly.
  • Manage People and Culture inbox, emails, and paper mail.
  • Maintain training metrics and monitor compliance with required training programs, partnering with leaders to ensure timely completion.
  • Lead associate relations activities including holiday celebrations and recognition programs.
  • Administer benefits including workers' compensation, life insurance, 401k, and medical benefits.
  • Coach associates, assist with disciplinary actions, and counsel on performance.
  • Support People and Culture Director in compliance with performance review processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, department finances, and invoice payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely associate terminations.
  • Conduct audits of associate and payroll reports as necessary.
  • Collaborate on policy, procedure, and handbook updates with the People & Culture Director.
  • Maintain and update people and culture shared documents and training manuals.
  • Develop organizational people and culture strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement people and culture strategies including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, safety, and associate relations.
  • Manage people and culture operations, including recruitment, training, performance management, and change implementation.
  • Develop financial strategies for people and culture operations, aligning resources with organizational goals.
  • Execute special projects, addressing priorities and achieving milestones.
  • Provide People & Culture guidance, counsel, and decision support to management.
  • Guide leaders and associates through policy interpretation, development, and consistent application.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Stay updated on trends and legislation through professional development.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring associates are successfully onboarded and introduced to company culture, policies, and programs.
  • Facilitate manager orientation and training initiatives to support leadership development and operational readiness.
  • Manage Marriott Digital Learning Zone (DLZ) training compliance, monitoring completion rates, maintaining training records, and partnering with leaders to ensure all required training is completed on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
  • Experience with ADP (HRIS software) and large hotel operations preferred.
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, associate relations, and safety preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Active involvement in HR networks and community organizations is preferred.
