We’re seeking an onsite Network Engineer to own day-to-day network operations and improvement projects for a mid-sized organization running a predominantly Microsoft stack. You’ll be responsible for reliable connectivity across campuses/office locations, secure access to cloud services (Microsoft 365/Azure), and stable performance for business-critical applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate, maintain, and improve the corporate LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi environment (switching, routing, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, QoS).
Manage edge connectivity and security: firewalls, VPN (site-to-site and remote access), NAT, and network segmentation.
Administer network services integrated with Microsoft infrastructure (Active Directory, Group Policy dependencies, DNS/DHCP, certificate services as relevant).
Support Microsoft 365 connectivity and performance (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) and ensure network readiness for collaboration/VoIP.
Partner with systems administrators on hybrid connectivity patterns (Azure AD/Entra , Azure networking fundamentals, Express Route/VPN Gateway where applicable).
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents across network and related services; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive fixes.
Manage network documentation: diagrams, IP addressing plans, rack layouts, standard configs, runbooks, and change history.
Implement and maintain monitoring/alerting (e.g., SNMP/telemetry, syslog, Net Flow), plus performance baselines and capacity planning.
Own network change management: maintenance windows, risk assessment, rollback planning, and stakeholder communication.
Coordinate vendor/ISP circuits, escalations, renewals, and support cases.
Support endpoint/network access controls (802.1X/NAC), guest Wi-Fi, and secure wired/wireless onboarding.
Participate in on-call rotation as needed for outages and maintenance.
3–7+ years of hands-on network engineering in a mid-sized enterprise environment.
Strong fundamentals in routing/switching and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, ARP, STP, OSPF/BGP concepts, subnetting, packet capture).
Experience administering and supporting:
Managed switches (Cisco/Aruba/Juniper/Fortinet, etc.)
Wireless (controller-based or cloud-managed)
Firewalls and VPNs
Working knowledge of Microsoft-centric enterprise services and dependencies: AD-integrated DNS, DHCP, Windows authentication flows, Microsoft 365 network considerations.
Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, trace route/mtr, SNMP monitoring platforms, syslog).
Strong documentation, communication, and customer-service mindset (you’ll be onsite and visible).
Microsoft/Azure exposure: basic Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, routing, VPN Gateway), Entra .
Familiarity with security frameworks/practices (least privilege, segmentation, MFA impacts on network auth, secure remote access).
Experience with: SD-WAN, SASE, NAC/802.1X, VoIP/Teams Phone readiness, IDS/IPS, certificate-based auth.
Scripting/automation (Power Shell preferred; Python welcome).
Certifications a plus: CCNA/CCNP, Network+, Fortinet NSE, Aruba, Microsoft fundamentals (AZ-900), etc.
