Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Solution Sales Engineer (Individual contributor) to lead technical pre‑sales, solution design, and customer architecture for our streaming‑native edge platform across aviation and maritime markets. This role is the primary technical interface to airlines, cruise lines, connectivity providers, and content partners.
The position blends enterprise networking expertise, video streaming knowledge, and real‑world satellite connectivity experience to convert proofs of concept into scaled revenue programs.
THE OPPORTUNITYOur platform provides a modern alternative to legacy TVRO and broadcast IPTV with a software‑defined, cloud‑controlled, edge‑executed architecture optimized for Starlink and multi‑orbit satellite networks. The Senior Solution Sales Engineer will become the trusted advisor to customer IT, network, digital experience, and entertainment teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architecture reviews with airlines and cruise operators
- Own the technical narrative in executive meetings, RFPs, and pilot programs
- Translate complex shipboard and aircraft constraints into clear, credible solutions
- Partner with account teams to progress and close enterprise opportunities
- Work closely with maritime and aviation partners including IFC providers, satcom operators, portal vendors, and content platforms
- Support joint solution design and field engagement with ecosystem partners
- Act as technical liaison during integrations and trials
- Prior industry contacts within cruise or maritime technology are preferred but not required
- Design end‑to‑end systems spanning cloud control plane, regional CDN layers, and ship/aircraft edge
- Advise on TVRO modernization and evolution strategies and bandwidth optimization for live video
- Define QoS, resiliency, security, and operational runbooks
- Produce BoMs, deployment plans, and integration diagrams
- Trials & Proofs of Concept
- Define success criteria for PoC and trial engagements
- Execute demonstrations for FAST/IPTV workflows, embedded players, caching, and analytics
- Troubleshoot and optimize during live customer evaluations
- Internal Leadership
- Act as voice of customer to Product and Engineering
- Build repeatable reference architectures and sales enablement tools
- Train sales teams and ecosystem partners
- 5+ years in solutions engineering, systems architecture, or technical pre‑sales
- Strong knowledge, ideally with hands‑on experience, of networking protocols and technology used in content distribution use cases including, TCP, UDP, SRT, multicast, HTTP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, QoS Linux and PEP.
- Experience with streaming technologies: HLS/DASH, DRM, CDN, caching
- Background with satellite or constrained network environments
- Proven ability to support multi‑million‑dollar sales cycles
- Exceptional executive communication skills
- Direct aviation IFE or cruise maritime technology background
- Familiarity or relationships within the maritime ecosystem (cruise IT, satcom, IFC, media vendors) – preferred
- Starlink or VSAT deployment experience
- Kubernetes or edge compute platforms
- IPTV, live TV, or TVRO modernization projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Technical win rate in RFPs
- Time to first aircraft/ship deployment
- Creation of reference customers and partners
- Proven Tier‑1 deployments already live
- Modern IP‑native architecture with no legacy baggage
