World Kinect is transforming how global energy solutions are built, secured, and delivered. As part of our modernization journey, we're seeking a Senior Network Software Engineer (IC) to drive automation, security, and scalability across our global network footprint.
This highly impactful role blends advanced software engineering with modern network operations. You'll design and implement scalable automation, lead key architectural initiatives, and enhance the performance and resilience of our hybrid and cloud-native environments. You'll work hands‑on with technologies such as Type Script, Graph
QL, Python, and Terraform
, collaborating closely with senior leadership to align our network strategy with World Kinect's global objectives.
- Architect and lead large-scale network automation and software engineering projects
- Develop modern APIs using Type Script, GraphQL
, and contemporary frameworks - Define coding standards, development methodologies, and engineering best practices
- Mentor engineers across levels, fostering innovation, high performance, and technical mastery
- Partner with senior leaders to align network architecture with strategic business goals
- Identify and adopt emerging technologies to modernize and future‑prove World Kinect's network stack
- Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
- Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash to streamline network operations
- Conduct regular network audits to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize global network performance using advanced tooling
- Utilize tools such as Wireshark
, Net Flow, and cloud-native monitoring solutions - Manage and configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems
- Ensure adherence to network policies, security protocols, and compliance frameworks
- 8+ years of experience in network-centric software engineering
- Advanced proficiency with Type Script, Graph
QL, API development
, and CI/CD - Strong background in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expertise in network security, Dev Ops, and containerization
- Deep knowledge of DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
, and enterprise-scale routing - Hands‑on experience with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection, and modern security models
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, YAML
, and Configuration as Code (CaC) methodologies
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives
- Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and strategic decision-making
- Ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive architectural direction
