About This OpportunityWe’re hiring a Principal Consultant for immediate placement on a high-impact Fortune 500 initiative within one of Ampersand’s longest‑standing strategic client relationships. This role will sit at the center of a multi‑workstream enterprise transformation program with executive visibility.
This is a senior, client‑facing role for someone who can lead complex programs, create structure in ambiguous environments, and drive measurable outcomes. You will bring strategic leadership, operating model rigor, and a pragmatic perspective on how AI and automation can enable better business performance.

- High‑visibility work that blends strategy, operating model design, and execution leadership
- Exposure to AI‑enabled transformation in a practical way (no expectation to be a deep AI architect)
- 5-7+ years in consulting, enterprise transformation, program leadership, or a senior client‑facing role
- Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives from discovery through delivery and adoption
- Strong executive presence: able to present clearly, facilitate decisions, and manage senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to bring structure to ambiguous problems and drive progress across competing priorities
- Experience designing operating models, governance, and KPI/performance frameworks
- High‑quality written communication (executive updates, operating rhythms, documentation)
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely across teams
- Track record of outcomes delivered, not just deliverables produced
- Experience in CRM‑enabled transformations, digital sales, customer lifecycle, or analytics‑driven performance programs
- Familiarity with AI/automation concepts and their implications for process, governance, and adoption
- Experience working in large, federated enterprises where consistency and scale are challenges
- Serve as the day‑to‑day strategic lead and trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders
- Lead discovery, alignment sessions, and decision‑making workshops that move work forward
- Translate complex, cross‑functional goals into an integrated plan with clear ownership and outcomes
- Identify risks early, surface tradeoffs, and keep momentum through change
- Manage dependencies across teams and ensure stakeholders stay aligned
- Prepare executive‑ready updates with crisp narratives, progress, and decisions needed
- Drive accountability without creating unnecessary process
- Design and document scalable ways of working: governance, roles, workflows, KPIs, and decision rights
- Reduce variability across teams by establishing standards, playbooks, and repeatable frameworks
- Build adoption plans, enablement materials, and performance mechanisms that support sustainability
- Define success metrics and make them usable (not just reportable)
- Translate data into insights, insights into actions, and actions into measurable results
- Partner with client leaders to strengthen adoption, capability, and long‑term ownership
- Identify and prioritize AI/automation opportunities tied to real business outcomes
