Job Summary

The IT Security Analyst supports the university's governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) program with a primary focus on accessibility compliance, third‑party risk management, and operational security support. The analyst ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of enterprise systems while adhering to established security policies and compliance standards. Responsibilities also include evaluating third‑party vendor compliance, reviewing accessibility documentation (such as VPATs), conducting risk‑based assessments, and assisting in managing institutional risk regarding software and technology acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) from vendors during the software procurement process.
  • Coordinate with the Technology Evaluation Group (TEG) to document approved and denied software.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in IT security, ADA regulations, and vendor risk management.
  • Participate in third‑party assessments, review and work with other security team members and IT administrators to mitigate risk.
  • Support the IT security office in documenting policies, procedures, and guidelines for the university community.
  • Assist in reviewing vulnerability reports and coordinate with IT teams to remediate identified risks.
  • Support security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of security (e.g., phishing simulations).
  • Assist in the execution of third‑party risk assessments (TPRM) to evaluate vendor security and compliance postures.
  • Maintain IT policies and procedures related to IT security.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure business processes align with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the investigation of security alerts and participate in the incident response lifecycle (identification, containment, eradication, and recovery) as needed.
  • Perform essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes or storms, and report to work as needed during university emergency closings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least two (2) years of experience in a related field.
Departmental Requirements
  • Experience in IT compliance, legal analysis, or risk management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CAP (Certified Authorization Professional).
  • Experience reviewing contracts or legal terms regarding vendor compliance.
  • Basic understanding of IT risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST 800‑53, ISO).
  • Understanding of FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, and PCI.
