Data Analyst, Data Science Manager
Overview

Responsibilities- Analyze, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy scalable data‑driven analytics tools for the Blackstone Credit & Insurance platform.
- Build platform components using data science, statistics, and computer programming.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, asset allocators, middle‑office operations, data governance, risk, and fund finance teams to create scalable analytics tooling.
- Create interactive dashboards & apps focused on portfolio risk characteristics with insights for internal managers and external clients.
- Leverage engineering and data science skills to identify alpha in complex credit and structured security markets.
- Transform diverse and unstructured or unclean datasets into organized formats suitable for data science.
- Write clean and scalable code in Python and SQL to support analytical models and generate novel insights from data.
- Develop interactive data visualization tools using BI software such as Sigma & Tableau.
- Implement and extend core system architecture and data warehouses using Snowflake & AWS as foundation for analytics.
- Web development expertise in React & Typescript on AWS infrastructure (Terraform) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM domain (e.g., Engineering, Computer/Data Science or similar).
- 3+ years of experience in a data analytics/data science role.
- Proficiency in database design, SQL, and Python programming.
- Experience with business intelligence applications (e.g., Sigma, Tableau).
- Experience designing and implementing scalable portfolio analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with big data analytical techniques and cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Snowflake.
- Expertise in database architecture design and performance optimization.
- Strong skills designing optimal data structures to host diverse financial datasets.
- Expertise in data visualization tools like Sigma & Tableau.
- Ability to build large‑scale, complex visualization platforms quickly.
- Expertise in designing core data analytics models focusing on reusability, data processing performance, and data accuracy.
- Knowledge in mathematics and statistics to implement financial simulation models and understand security/fund risk methodologies.
- Work experience with fixed‑income investment strategies.
- Experience with web‑based application development in React & Typescript with AWS infrastructure (Terraform).
Expected annual base salary range: $100,000–$170,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles located outside of the US, salary bands are based on local market comparables.
