Cyber SDC - Application Security Engineer - Senior - Consulting

Overview

Location:

Anywhere in Country. As an Application Security Engineer, you will implement and manage application development platforms and optimize security tools to facilitate speed to deployment while securing applications.

• Manage development platforms and security tools, including Rally, Git Hub, Sonar Qube, Git Hub Advanced Security, JFrog Artifactory, Xray, and Tines for automation.
• Configure, patch, and update self-hosted versions of Artifactory, Sonar Qube, and Git Hub on a monthly basis to ensure security and performance.
• Collaborate with the App Sec Lead to create and resolve operational tickets related to these tools, ensuring effective support for client needs.
• Maintain and update Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to the latest versions each month for optimal security and functionality.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to support the enhancement of application security practices and processes.
• Automate manual processes, integrate tools into the development lifecycle, and support migration efforts.
• Respond to service request tickets and enable developers to implement secure coding practices.

• Hands‑on experience in configuring, patching, and updating application security and development tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Experience operating in Agile methodology.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in application security practices and tools.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud patching and updates.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix, and other major operating systems.

• 2‑4 years of experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience managing application security and development tools.
• Relevant certifications (CCSP, CSSLP, OSCP, OSWP, GPEN, etc.).
• Strong ability to listen to and understand client needs, building rapport and delivering effective solutions.
• Proficient in producing high‑quality documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Skilled at working within diverse, cross‑functional teams, including geographically dispersed teams.
• Active interest in staying updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
