Systems Network Analyst

Overview

Provide technical support to Port Everglades staff to ensure efficient business operations. Responsibilities include resolving hardware and software issues, completing employee onboarding and offboarding, processing access requests, coordinating software updates and system upgrades, managing computer refresh cycles, overseeing IT inventory and asset tracking, and supporting the physical network infrastructure (Ethernet, fiber optic systems, and Wi‑Fi).

Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑level technical support to users experiencing hardware and/or software issues.
  • Manage backup processes, send backup tapes off‑site, and prepare new tapes for subsequent backups.
  • Configure and deploy operating systems and application software on computers and servers.
  • Install, configure, and replace computers and servers that are broken or out of warranty.
  • Research, analyze, and compare solutions for technical issues of moderate to high complexity.
  • Create and revise procedural documentation for third‑party software installations.
  • Inventory computer equipment as part of the annual hardware replacement project and prepare systems for staff and public use.
  • Open trouble tickets, coordinate with coworkers to resolve issues, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Perform related work as assigned and may travel locally within Broward County for field services or onsite visits.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ degree from an accredited trade, technical, or vocational school, college, or university with major coursework in computer science or a closely related field.
  • One year of relevant experience may substitute for each year of required education.
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting users and analyzing computer systems relevant to the assignment or closely related experience.
Preferences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience with collaboration tools, network management applications, and/or communication protocols.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting wired and wireless LAN/WAN and ERP systems.
  • 1+ years of experience in IT network solutions, process improvement, and efficiency development.
  • 1+ years of network monitoring and support services experience, including servers, switches, TCP/IP, Telnet, VPN, and other common network protocols.
  • Microsoft Azure/365 certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • IT security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CASP+, SSCP, Sec+, or equivalent.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Sec+, Data+, ITIL, or comparable certifications.
Special Certifications and Licenses
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within 60 days of employment and for the duration of employment.
  • Valid Seaport Business Purpose Credential for the duration of employment.

Physical Demands

The role requires medium work involving walking, standing, stooping or lifting. Regularly exert force between 20 and 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and close tolerances. Routine exposure to electrical shocks may occur.
