Title
AI Security Engineer Specialist
Position OverviewPosition located at Miller School of Medicine within the UHealth-University of Miami Health System IT Department. The role focuses on designing, deploying and optimizing AI‑driven workflows and agents to support SOC operations and streamline incident response.
Core Responsibilities- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot 365, Security Copilot) to streamline security operations, automate documentation, and support incident response activities.
- Develop and maintain AI prompts and workflows tailored for security use cases, including threat hunting, incident triage, and compliance reporting.
- Integrate AI tools into daily security operations to enhance analyst productivity and reduce response times.
- Design, implement, and manage AI‑based agents and automations for real‑time alert enrichment, log analysis, and contextual threat intelligence.
- Collaborate with SOC analysts, engineers, and GRC teams to identify automation opportunities and embed AI into existing security infrastructure.
- Analyze and correlate data from multiple sources using AI‑assisted tools to detect threats and anomalies.
- Create dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) that reflect AI‑enhanced threat intelligence insights.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI‑enhanced security processes, continuously refining prompt strategies and automation logic.
- Assist in developing and maintaining documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for AI‑integrated workflows.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and provide advanced analysis support during critical incidents.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and cybersecurity trends to ensure best‑in‑class practices.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and AI integration.
- Microsoft Certified:
Security Operations Analyst Associate (preferred). - Microsoft 365 Certified:
Fundamentals (preferred). - Microsoft Copilot certification(s) (preferred).
- GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Strong ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good collaboration skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
