Packman, Neuwahl & Rosenberg‘s principal practice areas include Probate and Estate Planning areas of practice as well as domestic and international inbound and outbound taxation. The firm has expanded through controlled growth to broaden the scope of services provided to our domestic and international client base. In addition to our probate, estate planning and tax planning practice, we offer a multi-faceted approach to the financial portrait of our clients.

As complementary practice areas, we assist clients with immigration, real estate, commercial and corporate matters and wealth preservation.

Overview

We are looking for a Paralegal whose sole focus would be the firm’s probate and real estate practice and preferably assist in the estate planning practice as well. The candidate will provide support to counsel by performing general research, drafting legal documents related to probate, for our clients and business entities, performing and executing due diligence functions, pre‑drafting and drafting of Probate and/or estate planning documents, as well as assisting our Real Estate attorney with preparation of documents and administrative duties;

support general trust administration and documentation needs, and perform real estate closings. We welcome an individual ready to assist with the development of processes to maximize efficiency. Associate’s degree is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must have 4-5 years of experience in a law firm or other legal department. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who love a challenge and working in a corporate and business setting.

Experience in matters relating to estates, probate, and real estate areas of practice and/or dealing with Federal or state taxing authorities would be welcome although not mandatory. Please see below for a further list of duties and a look into what your day to day will comprise of.

Paralegal Duties and Responsibilities
  • General research (legal and non-legal)
  • Administrative duties - Opening Files, answering calls for Assigned Attorneys, maintaining Attorney's calendars
  • Assist in finalizing multi‑element client projects
  • Assist in drafting legal documents associated with various probate, estate and tax matters
  • Assist in drafting and processing probate filings and submissions
  • Assist in matters related to trust administration, including but not limited to, matters related to investment directives, powers of appointment, beneficiary distribution requests
  • Supervise filing of documents with the Courts and/or other government entities
  • Assist in matters related to general real estate transactions and related matters
  • Handling of real estate transactions and closings
  • Day‑to‑day correspondence and communication with clients, vendor and other parties as to real estate transactions
  • Order and review of title work, lien searches, surveys
Qualifications
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Minimum of 4-5 years required in any one of the following areas: probate, estate planning, trusts, real estate or any general business or transactional area
  • Associate’s degree is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate, required
  • Stable work history
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Qualia preferred
  • Proficiency with Display Soft (Probate Program) - Required
  • Proficiency with Wealth Counsel (Estate Planning Program) is preferred
