Position Overview
The ideal candidate is a skilled trial attorney with strong plaintiff-side litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This role offers the opportunity to handle high-value, complex cases in both state and federal courts while working closely with clients and experts to achieve successful outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload from intake through resolution or trial
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs in state and federal courts
- Conduct depositions and attend court hearings
- Argue motions before judges in state and federal court
- Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with clients and provide regular case updates
- Work closely with expert witnesses in preparation for deposition and trial
- Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings, including first- or second-chair responsibilities
- Handle complex litigation issues and advocate zealously on behalf of injured clients
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the Florida Bar
- Admission to Federal District Courts required
- Minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on Plaintiff's personal injury and/or maritime law
- Demonstrated experience in state and federal court litigation
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a deadline-driven environment
- Proven ability to handle cases from intake through trial
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling cruise ship injury claims, seamen cases, Jones Act claims, and general maritime law matters
- Experience with routine personal injury matters, including motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, premises liability, crime victim cases, and wrongful death claims
- Trial experience, including first- or second-chair jury trial experience
- Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred but not required)
