Paralegal

Description We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join a dynamic law firm in Miami, Florida. This contract-to-permanent position requires an individual who is detail oriented, well-versed in civil and criminal litigation, trial preparation, and legal document drafting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of managing cases independently, and willing to travel for trials when necessary.

Responsibilities:

- Manage litigation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.

- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision.

- Electronically file legal documents using appropriate platforms.

- Assist attorneys during trial preparation and attend trials both within Florida and out-of-state as needed.

- Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records to meet annual billable hour requirements.

- Conduct discovery and manage the organization of case-related documents.

- Utilize case management software to organize and track case progress.

- Create and deliver detailed presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

- Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, and third parties to ensure smooth case handling.

- Manage calendars and schedules to coordinate hearings, deadlines, and appointments effectively. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil and criminal litigation as a paralegal.

- Proficiency in trial preparation and attendance, with a strong understanding of courtroom procedures.

- Expertise in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

- Advanced knowledge of e-filing systems and processes.

- Familiarity with case management software and billing tools.

- Ability to travel for trials within Florida and to other states when required.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentations.

- Experience with Relativity software is essential.
