Supply Manager | Aviation Fuel

Overview

World Fuel is seeking a commercially focused Supply Manager to support our global aviation fuel business. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of fuel supply, commercial strategy, and customer growth, partnering closely with suppliers, sales teams, airports, and aviation industry stakeholders. The Supply Manager will lead supplier relationship management, support airline and aviation fuel tenders, evaluate market opportunities, and develop sourcing strategies that drive profitable growth.

Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, relationship‑building skills, and the ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable business solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an aviation fuel professional who enjoys a blend of supplier‑facing, customer‑facing, analytical, and strategic work within a global industry leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply and Procurement – manage portfolio supply agreements, including supplier relationship management and development. Negotiate and coordinate the purchase of fuel and into‑plane services. Perform annual contract evaluation and ad hoc analytics. Help manage and grow the supply region.
  • Global Sales‑Supply Liaison – manage pricing, strategy and analysis for commercial airline tender process. Provide guidance to Sales on cost structure and related strategy, including market analysis (arbitrage, historical pricing review, etc.) and financial returns. Timely management of bids, including accurate and comprehensive sourcing (fuel, into‑plane, fees) in the tender management system. Detailed follow‑up through the bid process from quote, multiple round feedback, market intelligence and finalizing award.

    Detailed coordination with Supply Logistics and Trading/Risk teams to evaluate opportunities and review market analytics.
  • Market Development – help optimize, develop, and grow the portfolio.
  • Internal Collaboration – collaborate with stakeholders such as Sales, Tax, Legal, Insurance, Business and General Aviation Supply and Sales.
  • External Collaboration – communicate with suppliers, airports, M&O operators, FBOs, etc. on operational issues or setup and ITP negotiations.
Job Requirements
  • Commercial thinking. Demonstrated initiative, analytical and problem‑solving skills, managing complex and diverse information.
  • Curiosity and tenacious character with a passion for growing the business and developing relationships.
  • Understanding of North America refined products procurement, supply and distribution, specifically jet fuel and the associated supply chain from production to into‑wing delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship/business development history.
  • Risk management and market pricing concepts.
  • Ability to recognize and develop opportunities within the aviation fuel supply chain, including creative and strategic solutions to grow the aviation portfolio within the scope of the business strategy. Understand financial return metrics and collaborate with Supply and Sales to optimize growth.
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative, work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into actionable tasks.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant aviation fuel supply, distribution and pricing experience with a demonstrable record of success and achievement.
  • Proven leadership experience with national or global multi‑function networking dynamics.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree (BS, BA, etc.)

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements
  • Focus on North America but global exposure.
  • Travel 35% - 40% which may be planned or on short notice. Position regularly works additional hours during the week or on weekends and evenings; responsibilities of position may require telephone contact at unusual hours.
