How You Will Contribute
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s supply chain—including manufacturing and distribution locations, product flow, seasonality, operating costs, and key processes in sourcing, planning, and operations.
  • Develop a structured approach to assessing potential improvement opportunities and conduct the required analysis to define supply‑chain strategies and tactics that meet growth and financial objectives.
  • Analyze supply‑chain network design and footprints:
    • Baseline warehousing and distribution network cost structure and capacity utilization.
    • Profile supply‑chain processes and inventory flows across the network.
    • Analyze network optimization opportunities for cost, inventory, and service delivery (experience with modeling software such as Llamasoft or preferred alternatives):
      • Optimal number and location of distribution centers / network configuration.
      • Optimal inventory flow through the network (e.g., ship from DC vs. ship from stores, supplier drop‑ship options, optimal stocking positions, etc.).
    • Develop a high‑level planning model to support inventory optimization across supply‑chain networks.
  • Conduct sourcing events related to transportation and warehousing—including spend / activity baseline assessments, process and business requirements, and RFI/RFP processes, negotiations, and contracting. Experience with 3PL sourcing events is preferred.
  • Assess inventory planning processes and systems and recommend improvements to optimize service levels and inventory working capital requirements.
  • Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes in transportation, freight optimization, warehousing, and distribution, and create an implementation plan with estimated benefits (OPEX, inventory, service delivery).
  • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables, managing the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Lead and conduct analysis—capable of both independent analysis and team leadership.

Qualifications
  • 10–15+ years of combined consulting and industry operating experience.
  • Preference for industry leadership roles within Supply Chain / Distribution and Logistics.
  • Prior distribution and logistics analysis/advisory experience in industry, consulting, or 3PL environments.
  • Deep functional expertise in distribution and logistics network optimization, transportation and warehouse sourcing, 3PL operations, production and inventory planning.
  • Experience leading or modeling supply chains using software tools (e.g., Llamasoft).
  • Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
  • Flexibility to travel as required by project needs.
Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: $175,000 – $250,000 annually (dependent on education, experience, skills, geography). A discretionary bonus program is offered based on individual and firm performance.
