Air & Ocean Import Agent

The company provides tailored import services across both air and ocean freight, supporting a diverse and growing client base.

Altius Talent is seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Import Agent on behalf of our client in Miami, FL. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end import shipments across both air and ocean freight, ensuring compliance with all international regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.

• Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import shipments from arrival through to final delivery
• Handle import documentation including bills of lading, arrival notices, and customs entries
• Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and customs requirements
• Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and customers
• Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or issues
• Work closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance processes
• Maintain accurate shipment records within the company’s operating system
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors

• 2+ years of experience in air and ocean import freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of import procedures and customs documentation
• Familiarity with U.S. customs regulations and clearance processes
• Experience working with carriers and logistics systems
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

• Experience working for a freight forwarder or NVOCC
• Knowledge of customs entry systems or working alongside brokers
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly advantageous

• Salary up to $65,000 depending on experience
