Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) – Customs Brokerage Manager

Location: Miami, FL

Salary: Up to $100,000 + Benefits

About the Company

Altius Talent is partnering with a well-established international freight forwarder to recruit a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) to lead its Customs Brokerage operation in Miami
.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Customs professional looking to step into a leadership position, overseeing a small team while remaining actively involved in customs brokerage operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, maintaining excellent client service, and driving operational efficiency within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Customs Brokerage department.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 2 Customs Entry Writers
    .
  • Ensure all customs entries are processed accurately and in compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Maintain and utilise your Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) qualification to support brokerage operations.
  • Review and approve customs entries where required.
  • Provide guidance on tariff classification, valuation, duty calculation, and country of origin.
  • Ensure compliance with all CBP regulations and Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, CPSC, etc.).
  • Handle complex customs issues, audits, post-entry amendments, protests, and compliance matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support process improvements and best practices within the department.
  • Work closely with Air, Ocean and Warehousing teams to ensure smooth shipment flow.
  • Utilise Cargo Wise One to manage customs entries and operational workflows.
Requirements
  • Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) – essential.
  • 5+ years of Customs Brokerage experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing a customs team.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • CBP regulations
  • HTS Classification
  • Duty Drawback
  • PGA requirements
  • Customs valuation
  • Post-entry processes
  • Experience using Cargo Wise One is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, TSCA, Lacey Act, CPSC and other PGA requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
