Are you known for leadership skills? Are you passionate about Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations? If so, we have an opportunity that would allow you to oversee foreign trade zone operations in Miami, FL and ensure compliance with all CBP/FTZ regulations and other US regulatory agency requirements.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?In this role you will supervise the local FTZ production team, work closely with the FTZ user/client, act as Zone Administrator, and support the FTZ Director.
Key Accountabilities:- Provide supervision, direction, and leadership to direct reports including managing employee performance
- Continuous improvement of internal FTZ operating procedures
- Ensure compliance by auditing CBP documentation, FTZ transactions, and warehouse inventory
- Liaison with user, carriers, CBP local port, and other internal depts
- Work with other stakeholders and IT to resolve EDI, ASN, and system issues
- Ensure timely & accurate filings of e214, 3461, 7501, and 7512 data to CBP
- Manage high volume department production within carrier and warehouse cut off times.
- Research & resolve system, concurrence, and inventory balance issues
- Create and maintain work instructions for all processes
- Oversee inbound zone-to-zone admittances
- Ensure all FTZ records are maintained in accordance with applicable recordkeeping regulations
- Ensure FTZ Operations manuals are kept up-to-date and accurately reflect current operations and practices
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3-5 years in related Foreign Trade Zone and/or customs brokerage experience, or Warehouse Operations.
- Prior experience supervising other employees or projects
- Customs Broker License
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledgeable in US Customs, FTZ, and International Trade with a basic understanding of customs valuation, HTS codes, compliance/audit, trade programs, and zone operations
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems, warehousing and logistics activities including import, export, and Customhouse brokerage
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
- Understanding of operating processes, business process standardization and enabling technologies
- High degree of logic, initiative, self-organization and motivation
- Proven ability to get things done, critical thinker, and team player
- Highly developed written, verbal, and inter-personal skills to manage and motivate
- Strong situational analysis and quickly solve problems, work under tight deadlines
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions
Travel Requirements:
No travel is required in this position
Schedule:
4 days in office, currently 1 day remote but subject to change. Available on-call for weekend
