Lead Foreign Trade Zone Operations in a Fast-Paced Global Logistics Environment

We are seeking an FTZ Supervisor to oversee daily Foreign Trade Zone operations in Miami, FL. In this role, you will lead a local FTZ team, serve as the Zone Administrator, collaborate closely with customers and regulatory agencies, and ensure compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), FTZ, and other regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for FTZ operations and compliance.
Manage employee performance, productivity, and professional development.
Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.

FTZ Operations & Compliance

Serve as the local FTZ Administrator and subject matter expert.
Ensure compliance with all CBP regulations, FTZ requirements, and recordkeeping standards.
Audit FTZ transactions, customs documentation, inventory records, and operational processes.
Oversee inbound admissions, zone-to-zone transfers, withdrawals, and inventory movement activities.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of CBP documents, including:
CBP Form 214
CBP Form 3461
CBP Form 7501
CBP Form 7512
Maintain current and accurate FTZ Operations Manuals and compliance documentation.

Customer & Regulatory Relations

Act as the primary liaison between customers, carriers, Customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
Support customs audits and compliance reviews.
Coordinate with brokers, regulatory agencies, and business partners to resolve operational and compliance issues.
Partner with users/customers to conduct compliance reviews and operational assessments.

Process Improvement & Systems Support

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Partner with IT and business stakeholders to resolve EDI, ASN, inventory, and system-related issues.
Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, concurrence issues, and transactional variances.
Manage department productivity while meeting carrier and warehouse cutoff times.

What We're Looking For Required Experience

3-5+ years of experience in:
Customs Brokerage
Import/Export Logistics
Warehouse Operations
Prior leadership experience supervising employees, teams, or projects.

FTZ Expertise Hands-on experience with:

Monthly, quarterly, and annual FTZ business reviews
FTZ compliance reporting and management
Inventory control and recordkeeping systems
Harbor Maintenance Fee (HMF) compliance and management
Customs audits and broker coordination
FTZ admissions, withdrawals, transfers, and inventory controls

Education & Qualifications Required

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:
U.S. Customs Regulations
Foreign Trade Zone Regulations
HTS Classification
Customs Valuation
Audit and Compliance Processes Working knowledge of:
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Inventory Control Systems
Import/Export Operations
Customs Brokerage Processes
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
Experience with web-based trade, logistics, and compliance software applications.
