Under direction and supervision, is responsible for the housekeeping-type maintenance of County facilities as assigned or other type of indoor and exterior facility; does related work as may be required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lead Custodian.

• Assumes total routine tasks, including sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, polishing floors, washing walls, cleaning restrooms, windows, walks, and fixtures, and performs minor painting and general repair work at the center.
• Replenishes restroom supplies, empties garbage and trash containers.
• Requests requisition of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Maintains necessary records relating to work performed and makes required reports.

• Rudimentary knowledge of maintenance requirements and use of cleaning and repair equipment.
• Some knowledge of routine type repairs usually required in the operation of an indoor recreation facility.
• Good personality and the ability to maintain good relationships with associates, staff, and facility patrons.
• The ability and initiative to work effectively without close or continuous supervision.

• Graduation from high school desirable, although not essential.
