Superintendent – New Installation – Miami, FL
Responsible for managing all construction operations and projects to ensure jobs are completed on time, profitably, and in accordance with the branch’s annual budget and growth objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Supervises field employees, providing direction, training, and performance management.
- Administers the company safety program and performs safety audits.
- Plans and prioritizes elevator installations and manpower needs using project management software.
- Reviews accounting reports to identify risks and opportunities; reports revenue‑impact issues early.
- Manages subcontractor schedules and performance on turn‑key projects.
- Builds strong relationships with owners, contractors, elevator consultants, and architects.
- Reviews and signs off on change orders, purchase orders, elevator turnover authorizations, accounts receivable, write‑offs, credits, and other approvals.
- Stays current on federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements.
- Familiarizes with company Standard Operating Procedures and product updates, attending training and reviewing factory updates.
- Mediates and resolves complaints from external and internal customers, including union employees.
- Determines material orders and coordinates subcontracting portions of installations.
- Conducts weekly crew visits and day‑one visits to manage safety, site activities, and progress; documents findings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills; or general business knowledge normally acquired through a Bachelor’s degree; or two years’ experience managing at a branch departmental level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write reports, contract proposals, and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
