Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in utility and wastewater infrastructure construction. The ideal candidate will lead project delivery from pre-construction through final closeout, driving performance across field operations, financial management, client service, contract administration, and change management. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise will directly influence project success, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project management scheduling to client billing. Coordinate daily project operations, including schedule management, quality control, safety compliance, client deliverables, and billing.
  • Manage operational execution through collaborative leadership of Field Superintendents and Supervisors
  • Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project progression.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, maps, specifications, and contract documents; manage scope alignment with deliverables.
Financial & Budget Management
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with actual costs and forecasts.
  • Accountable for actual vs. budget cost tracking
    , identify variances, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to support accurate cost proposals and pre-bid budgeting.
  • Manage labor, materials, equipment costs, and change management to protect project profitability.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships through proactive communication and performance transparency.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, engineers, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, mitigations, and financial performance to internal and external stakeholders.
Contract & Change Order Control
  • Administer project contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and deliverables.
  • Identify, document, and manage change orders and contract modifications; negotiate scopes and pricing with clients as needed.
  • Support formal claim documentation and resolution processes.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and project logs
  • Prepare executive-level reporting on schedule, cost, quality, risk, and safety performance with support from accounting/analytics team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of project management experience in utilities, wastewater, or heavy civil construction (municipal or contractor environment).
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and commercial performance.
  • Strong background in estimating support, contract administration, and documentation control.
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Heavy Job, scheduling software, and ERP systems a plus.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic field environment.
