The Executive Director of Development serves as the chief fundraising and solicitation officer for the College of Business (COB), providing strategic and operational leadership to build, implement, manage and grow a comprehensive fundraising program that supports the College's mission, vision, and campaign goals. The Executive Director will collaborate with the Dean of the College and University Advancement to develop and implement annual and long-term fundraising strategies, including securing leadership and principal gifts.
Oversees all aspects of the College's development team and fosters strong, effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the Dean and other development teams, develops, plans, and implements strategies to secure philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations that align with the College's campaign and fundraising priorities. Oversees all fundraising activities and leads the development of donor cultivation efforts, proposals, solicitations, and stewardship plans. Actively manages a personal portfolio of potential donors and prospects. Sets and achieves annual fundraising and development goals.
- Provides expert fundraising guidance to the Dean and other academic and administrative leaders in setting priorities for external and community relations, stewardship, special events, fundraising, and alumni engagement. Prepares and supports the Dean and other leaders in all development and alumni-related activities.
- Meets with and personally solicits support from previous and potential donors to the University on campus, nationally, internationally and throughout the community to cultivate and solicit prospects.
- Serves as the principal liaison to the Deans Council and other College boards. Provides guidance on the recruitment and engagement of key alumni and community leaders to College volunteer leadership positions in support of fundraising strategies. Supports industry relations efforts.
- Monitors progress towards achieving fundraising goals and produces and evaluates reports related to fundraising and development program activity and production. Provides regular updates to the Dean, University Advancement Assistant Vice President, and the senior leadership of the College.
- Serves as a key member of the University Advancement team. Participates in university-wide prospect management, cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects. Develops and implements a strategic work plan that focuses on the internal and external objectives of the College of Business and University Advancement. Ensures the utilization of the University prospect management and tracking system and works closely with the University alumni relations.
- Develops and assists with the approval of fundraising publications and publicity materials for all fund-raising programs in the college and recommends to the Dean for final approval. Utilizes media channels and emerging technologies effectively to fund raise for the College.
