Vice President of Accounting

SCI, the Leader in Real Estate Executive Search®, has been retained to recruit a Vice President of Accounting on behalf of an established and growing general contractor specializing in the rehabilitation and redevelopment of affordable housing.

This is a high-impact leadership role with broad ownership across finance, accounting, operations, and systems — serving as a key partner to ownership and a clear path to broader executive responsibility as the company grows.

• Overseeing GC pay application requisitions, AIA billing, cash flow forecasting, job costing, and WIP reporting
• Directing AP/AR, retainage tracking, lien waiver administration, and project budget monitoring
• Leading day-to-day office operations — workflows, vendor relationships, personnel, and process improvement
• Serving as internal owner of the ERP platform (currently Acumatica), with authority to evaluate and lead a transition if warranted
• Partnering with the CFO on monthly close, financial reporting, and annual audit

• 5+ years of progressive construction finance or accounting experience on the general contractor side
• Hands-on expertise with GC pay apps, AIA billing, retainage, job costing, and WIP — no learning curve
• Strong proficiency with a construction ERP; prior ERP evaluation or implementation experience a significant plus
• Proven ability to manage and develop small teams
• Experience supporting a GC focused on affordable housing, multifamily, or rehabilitation preferred
