Summary

Construction Project Manager is responsible for the management of high‑visibility strategic projects which span the Division and will establish collaborative relationships with Administrators, Clinicians, Technical Staff, Consultants and Vendors as required by specific projects. The incumbent manages all aspects of system implementation in order to meet customer expectations and maintain a high level of quality through communications, customer service, and organizational practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develops detailed project plans containing all tasks necessary to complete the projects.
  • Determines the order and timing in which tasks must be completed.
  • Established the resources needed and the role of each member of the project team.
  • Negotiates the availability of people who have the necessary skills to complete the tasks and the schedules to complete specific tasks.
  • Monitors projects continually in terms of the timeline, costs, and overall quality.
  • The project manager facilitates communication between all parties involved in an implementation to ensure that the teams are effectively working together.
  • Monitors exactly where the project is according to plan on a daily basis in order to predict problems earlier and isolate issues that need to be addressed because of the critical effects that they may have on other parts of the project.
  • Facilitates the resolution of issues within the framework of the project team and escalates major issues to executive‑level steering committees.
  • Develops and executes enterprise project communication plans to foster wide‑spread information and understanding of the goals, benefits, issues and progress of strategic information technology projects.
  • Delivers formal presentations and project updates to leadership groups and committees.
  • Conducts briefings, demonstrations, surveys and evaluations. Publishes related project article on the web and other organization‑wide media.
  • Works closely with JHS CIO and Directors of MIS to craft work efforts in support of organizational culture, priorities and business impacts, while targeting key staff core competency growth areas.
  • Educates executives, senior management, business owners, and staff on the PMO structure and practices in support of entity needs as defined by the IT senior leadership.
  • Supervise and coordinates technical project leaders in charge of operational departments.
  • Provides high‑level oversight within the formal project management model as defined by the Division.
  • Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience

Generally, requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field is required.

Skill

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.

Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

Credentials

Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
