- Inventory Accuracy & Physical Counting
- Own the site-wide inventory accuracy program, including daily ad hoc counts, full physical inventories, and targeted recounts. Must maintain roadmap to meet weekly/yearly targets and must be able to improvise to make up for lost time, if there was a shift to schedules.
- Develop and maintain counting schedules based on risk, usage, and historical variance trends.
- Investigate count discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all inventory adjustments are properly documented, approved, and traceable.
- Must have knowledge in government audits and requirements.
- Location Management & Audits
- Own the creation, maintenance, and integrity of all inventory locations within the system.
- Ensure locations are physical, controlled, properly labeled, and aligned with site layout and material flow.
- Conduct periodic location audits to verify contents, reconcile system records, and eliminate "ghost" or non-physical locations.
- Use standardized location naming/structuring and enforce location governance.
- Shelf-Life Program Support
- Administer and oversee the shelf-life management program for all applicable materials.
- Ensure accurate tracking of expiration dates and timely execution of inspections, re-certifications, and extensions where applicable.
- Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, M&P, and end users to proactively manage materials approaching expiration.
- Develop and report key metrics related to shelf-life performance and material attrition.
- Scrap & Obsolete Inventory Management
- Support and enforce the scrap and obsolete inventory program, ensuring compliance with internal policies and customer requirements.
- Coordinate identification, segregation, documentation, and disposition of scrap and obsolete material.
- Pull and segregate obsolete parts as given in scrap tickets/requests.
- Maintain clear traceability and audit trails for all scrap and obsolete transactions.
- Analyze scrap trends and partner with cross-functional teams to reduce avoidable losses.
- Outbound Shipment Quality & Compliance
- Audit outbound shipments to verify correct part numbers, quantities, documentation, labeling, and packaging.
- Ensure shipments meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
- Identify and correct systemic issues related to picking, packing, and shipping processes to prevent shipment errors.
- Provide feedback and training to operations teams based on audit findings.
- Process Control, Governance & Documentation
- Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all inventory control operations activities.
- Ensure compliance with site, customer, and corporate policies, including traceability and documentation requirements.
- Partner with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to align processes and close any gaps in inventory governance.
- Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, records, and process documentation.
- Data Integrity, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor key inventory metrics (e.g., accuracy, variance trends, location integrity, scrap/shelf-life losses) and report performance regularly.
- Use data and analytics to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support root cause investigations and corrective action plans related to inventory discrepancies and audit findings.
- Champion best practices and standardization across the site's inventory management processes.
- Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer on inventory quality and integrity matters.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering to ensure inventory supports production and program objectives.
