Position: Court Operations Officer 2 - Civil Court Department (Clerk of the Court and Comptroller)
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of clerical experience related to legal records and courtroom procedures to include two years of related supervisory experience are required. Additional experience related to legal records and courtroom procedures may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a specialized responsible professional, technical, and administrative work with management responsibility in the Civil Courts Department of the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court and Comptroller's Office (COCC).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Intimate knowledge of Civil operations, applications and systems related to Civil County and Circuit Court including court registry funds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages, plans, monitors, supervises and coordinates assigned operational activities in the Civil Department. Assists with the scheduling and delegation of work assignments; motivates and counsels employees; and monitors productivity and performance. Reviews existing operating procedures and recommends improvements in efficiency and productivity. Ensures compliance of statutory mandates and that Department deadlines and objectives are met. Participates in decisions involving staffing, hiring, firing, training, discipline and promotions.

Possesses extraordinary knowledge of departmental functions and provides counseling and advice to employees on related employment issues and policies. Performs related data, process, and policy analysis. Oversees the care and custody of certain documents, electronic logs and records in accordance with retention requirements. Serves as one of the Department's Public Records Request liaisons. Assists with the oversight, specific to IT project management;

and works with the designated executive, management, operations, supervisory, specialized clerical and technical staff in conjunction with the applicable COC and County IT staff to ensure the successful implementation and administration of designated IT operations within the established deadline and ensuring the proper IT integration. Serves as staff assistant to the Director and Assistant Director of the Civil Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Possesses an advanced level of understanding of the applications of the Civil Department.

* Has intimate knowledge of Cash Management.

* Can evaluate data points and leverage the findings in a way that strengthens the Department.

* Has a working knowledge of capital inventory and evidence destruction.

* Has the ability to generate reports associated with monthly, weekly and daily data gathering.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily office-based with extended time at a computer. May involve light lifting (up to 10 lbs).
