Bar General Manager

Job Description:

The Bar General Manager will oversee daily operations of a high-volume bar, managing a large team of 26+ staff members while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all regulations. This role requires hands‑on involvement in staff supervision, inventory control, and quality assurance. The manager will work directly with ownership, assist in event planning, and maintain strong vendor relationships through weekly interactions.

Proficiency with POS, inventory management, payroll systems, and general office software is essential to streamline operations and financial reporting.

• Manage bar operations and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory standards
• Supervise, train, and develop a large staff team to maintain high service quality
• Oversee inventory control and coordinate weekly vendor interactions
• Assist in planning and managing entertainment and events
• Implement and monitor marketing initiatives to boost bar patronage
• Ensure quality assurance across all aspects of service and product delivery
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support ownership decisions
• Maintain compliance with food safety and liquor license regulations

• 5+ years of experience in bar or hospitality management

• Liquor License Certification
• Food Safety Certification
• Proven team leadership and conflict resolution skills
• Experience with inventory management and POS systems
• Strong customer service orientation
• Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance
