Seeking a traveling Superintendent - this project is located in Charleston, SC
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Interior Finishes Project Superintendent to oversee all aspects of interior finishes work on construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to coordinate various trades to ensure the successful completion of interior finishes in line with design intent and project specifications.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all interior finishes work including drywall, framing, ceilings, flooring, millwork, painting, specialties, and final trim to ensure alignment with design intent and project specifications.
* Coordinate sequencing of interior trades to optimize workflow, minimize rework, and maintain adherence to the project schedule.
* Review and verify shop drawings, submittals, and material selections related to interior finishes for accuracy and constructability.
* Conduct pre-installation meetings with interior trades to communicate expectations, quality standards, scheduling, and coordination requirements.
* Monitor installation progress and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract documents, industry standards, and client expectations.
* Identify and resolve field conflicts between finishes, MEP systems, and structural elements to maintain design integrity and avoid delays.
* Manage mock-ups, sample approvals, and benchmark installations to establish acceptable quality standards prior to full production.
* Perform detailed inspections of finishes work, ensuring deficiencies are identified early and corrected promptly.
* Coordinate punch list development and closeout of all interior finish items to achieve timely project turnover.
* Ensure protection of completed finishes through proper site logistics, material handling, and trade coordination.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager and design team to address aesthetic concerns, material substitutions, or constructability challenges related to interior finishes.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
* Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
* Experience in interior construction, commercial construction, multifamily construction, or heavy industrial construction.
* 10 to 12 years of experience on related construction projects with an electrical focus.
* Excellent team development skills and leadership abilities.
* Strong ability to partner with the Project Manager and staff.
* Effective communication skills.
* Capability to deal with ambiguity and tight work oversight.
* Business judgment to negotiate the balance between budget and construction processes.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take action confidently and decisively.
* Ability to manage and embrace change, responding and adapting to new processes.

The work environment is within a heavy industrial setting, specifically on the Office Tower Project. It involves collaboration with various trades and requires adherence to industry standards and client expectations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.30 - $74.52/hr.
