Description

As a Director in the Healthcare Industry Group, a subsidiary of A&M, you will lead a team and act as the main conduit between healthcare clients and our team on a range of complex assignments. You will manage projects by overseeing interview activities, gathering relevant data, developing goals and deadlines, reviewing junior staff work, and communicating with clients directly. You will build, review, and present financial and operational models, provide strategic guidance, and collaborate across service lines while maintaining client relationships and engagement economics.

The Healthcare Industry Group leads transformational change in healthcare, serving executives, boards, private equity firms, investors, law firms, and government agencies. We deliver results for enhancing financial and operational performance, accelerating strategic growth, and optimizing value throughout the investment lifecycle.

HIG’s Healthcare Services practice (HCS) focuses on serving private‑equity portfolio companies and public and private healthcare companies. HCS services include performance improvement/operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services).

  • Technology Assessment – review and analysis of platform, data, and system architectures, applications, integrations, infrastructure, processes, security, and IT teams for scale and value opportunities.
  • Performance Improvement/Operational Turnaround – assess businesses and identify key performance impediments.
  • Cost Optimization – a holistic, cross‑functional approach to drive EBITDA and cash‑flow improvements.
  • M&A Services – support operational/synergy due diligence, integration planning, and divestiture and carve‑out execution.
  • Finance Operations – improve finance operations, including management reporting and month‑end close process optimization.
  • Interim Management – step into interim executive roles (CEO, COO, CFO, CIO) when needed.
How You Will Contribute
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders through clear communication and partnership.
  • Engage in C‑suite and board‑level conversations regarding challenges and strategic initiatives.
  • Build, review, and present financial models (e.g., 13‑week cash‑flow forecasts, pro‑forma analyses, three‑statement models).
  • Design and implement measurable solutions that span all aspects of operations.
  • Communicate with clients and project team members, escalating matters that require additional attention.
  • Provide strategic guidance to manage clients through crisis and identify solutions.
  • Collaborate and align with representatives from other service lines.
  • Own client project plans and engagements, defining, prioritizing, and sequencing work to meet deadlines.
  • Lead and manage performance of project teams, assign responsibilities, coach, and provide feedback; mentor junior staff.
  • Improve client tracking tools and develop KPIs and metrics to identify operational improvement opportunities.
  • Redesign and implement leading‑practice workflows, addressing quality deficits and driving operational and financial outcomes.
  • Manage engagement economics, budgeting, and timely billing & collections, including implementation risk and profitability.
  • Develop and deliver high‑quality work products using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Execute interim leadership roles or lead engagements while managing client relationships.
  • Create transition and hand‑off plans to sustain improvements post‑project.
