Senior Director of 24-Hour & Residential Programs Position Summary
The Senior Director of 24-Hour & Residential Programs reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides operational leadership for all residential and 24-hour services, including Residential Level II programs, Re-Entry Recovery Centers, Crisis Stabilization Units, and Central Receiving Facilities at Banyan Community Health. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, program effectiveness, financial performance, and staff development across multiple service lines.
The Senior Director serves as a key member of the leadership team, partnering with executive and clinical leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance service delivery, improve outcomes, and support organizational growth. This position provides direct leadership to program directors and managers while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership- Develop and execute the operational vision and strategic direction for all 24-hour and residential programs in alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and execute transition plans for newly acquired or newly opened facilities, including staffing, training, policy implementation, compliance readiness, and performance monitoring.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for program growth, service enhancement, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives, establish measurable goals, and monitor performance indicators across all assigned programs.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance service quality, client outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Provide executive oversight and leadership for the day-to-day operations of all residential and 24-hour programs.
- Supervise and mentor program leadership teams, ensuring accountability for operational and clinical excellence.
- Monitor program performance through regular review of operational metrics, quality indicators, and compliance standards.
- Ensure consistency in service delivery and adherence to organizational policies and procedures across all locations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements including DCF and CARF.
- Collaborate with Quality Improvement teams to implement performance improvement initiatives and corrective action plans when necessary.
- Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
- Oversee development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of program policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and effective resource allocation.
- Analyze financial and operational performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to ensure programs operate within established budgetary guidelines.
- Oversee facility operations and maintenance processes to ensure safe, functional, and compliant environments.
- Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention efforts for program leadership and operational staff.
- Promote a culture of professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development initiatives.
- Ensure all staff receive required training and maintain competency standards.
- Foster employee engagement and accountability while promoting organizational values and mission.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Leadership, Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, Facilities, and Executive Leadership teams.
- Participate in executive and organizational committees, meetings, and strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for residential and 24-hour program operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Behavioral Health, Pubic Health, Social Services, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), Business Administration (MBA), Nursing, Social Work, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5years of progressive leadership experience in residential, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, or related operational environments.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple programs, facilities, or service lines.
- Experience overseeing budgets, compliance programs, operational performance, and staff development.
- Experience with residential treatment, crisis stabilization, behavioral health, or recovery-focused service delivery preferred.
- Clinical licensure and bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
