Young Musicians Unite
· Miami, FL | Chief Operating Officer | In-Office | Executive Leadership Team |
Reports to:
Chief Executive Officer | Salary Range: $180,000– $225,000
Founded in 2013, Young Musicians Unite (YMU) provides free, high-quality music education to students in under-resourced communities across Miami-Dade County. Through deep partnerships with public schools, YMU reaches more than 16,000 students across 105 schools, with an annual operating budget of approximately $9 million. YMU is known for ambitious growth, strong school and community partnerships, large-scale fundraising efforts, and a highly entrepreneurial culture.
The organization has grown rapidly in size, complexity, and impact and is now investing intentionally in the leadership and infrastructure required for its next stage.
Young Musicians Unite is seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer to lead the organization's internal operations and help build the management infrastructure required to sustain rapid growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will serve as YMU's senior operating executive and a central member of the executive leadership team. The COO will oversee organizational execution, leadership team management, finance and administrative oversight, people systems, cross-functional coordination, organizational planning, performance management, and the systems and processes that enable YMU to operate effectively at scale.
YMU operates on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), and the COO will serve in the organization's Integrator role. In partnership with the CEO and leadership team, the COO will drive organizational alignment, accountability, execution, issue resolution, and the disciplined operating rhythms that keep YMU moving toward its goals. The COO must also preserve the qualities that have enabled YMU to grow: entrepreneurial thinking, speed, creativity, resourcefulness, strong relationships, and commitment to the mission.
Success in this role means a stronger, more accountable, coordinated, financially disciplined organization that can scale without sacrificing quality or culture.
