Quality Assurance Lab Technician Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician tests product, sets samples, and conducts quality inspections of products and equipment following protocol and procedures established for Quality Assurance programs.

Work Schedule & Compensation
  • Lab Technician – 3rd Shift (4:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
  • Workdays:
    Monday and Sunday (2 days off to be defined)
  • Hours:

    Shift varies until fully trained by the company
  • Pay Rate: $21.00 /hr – $22.00 /hr (based on experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide quality inspections on all related items.
  • Perform microbiological and chemical testing of finished products, raw materials and associated items as required.
  • Participate in product weight control, antibiotic testing, lab equipment maintenance, calibration and lab sanitation.
  • Maintain communication with other departments and employees, including management, regarding issues that may restrict production efficiency.
  • Obtain and maintain State certification for antibiotic testing within company guidelines.
  • Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements, meeting all regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out accurately and legibly, following SOPs.
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Utilize a continuous‑improvement mindset to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work‑safe practices, including lockout‑tagout, use of required PPE, confined space safety, safe chemical handling and fall restraints.
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Work Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing facility.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training.
Technical Knowledge
  • Able to flavor milk‑based, sugar‑based, and caffeine‑based products.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Follow and comply with all safety standards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position operates in a fast‑paced warehouse environment and is exposed to a wet environment. Employees are exposed to chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees must wear required PPE that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees may experience swings in work‑related demands of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend throughout the entire shift.

Employees must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have full range of body motion.
