At our Component Repair facility in Miami, Florida, we are seeking a Machinist. This is a full-time position, responsible for using milling machines, boring mills, grinders, lathes, and precision measuring equipment to perform/alterations on aircraft parts and fabricate tools.

Responsibilities:

* Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work

* Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers

* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines

* Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations

* Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter

* Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process

* Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs

* Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to repair products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances

* Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders

* Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled

* Position and fasten work pieces

* Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers

* Confer with engineering or supervisory personnel to exchange technical information

* Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency

Qualifications:

* Extensive knowledge of methods of repairing, installing, and maintaining components of aircraft articles.

* Skilled in performing repairs and modifications on aircraft articles.

* Familiar with tools and equipment appropriate for the functions performed.

* Ability to understand and interpret documents related to technical manuals, diagrams, and safety rules.
