Position SummarySheet metal Aircraft Mechanic – Miami, FL. Responsible for line maintenance, aircraft structural fabrication, and related tasks per approved technical publications and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities- Perform line maintenance (on‑call and scheduled) for customers’ aircraft.
- Carry out routine maintenance and airworthiness releases within the scope of approval, returning aircraft to service.
- Servicing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft, engines, and associated components to meet deadlines and performance goals.
- Troubleshoot systems; disassemble, repair, and reassemble sections and components.
- Ensure departing aircraft are safe per FARs and manufacturer manuals; document all work.
- Collaborate and communicate with the air carrier's maintenance control center as required.
- Use special skills such as close‑tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, shooting/bucking rivets, trimming, micrometers, and calipers.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair production sheet‑metal products and equipment per AMM, SRM, drawings, and specifications.
- Make sheet‑metal layouts; set up and operate fabricating machinery and installations.
- Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for modification per technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations.
- Current valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience, including B747 & B767.
- Knowledge of aircraft structural fabrication, assembly, and installations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, use hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, crawl, lift/push/carry up to 50 pounds, work near moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals, and tolerate loud noise.
- Visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information.
- Ability to work under weather and extreme conditions.
- English reading and writing proficiency.
- Pass airport security background checks and willingness to travel.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
