Position Overview

Shift Supervisor – 2nd Shift (3:00PM – 11:30PM, Monday through Friday).

Location:

Miami, Florida. Pay range: $65,000 depending on qualification. Eligible for a 10% monthly individual target bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage production, material flow, and quality control of the shift.
  • Administrate organizational policies and procedures at the department level and supervise daily shop operations, establishing work priorities to meet internal and external customer shipping commitments.
  • Develop shift objectives to support the division’s goals and review performance plans.
  • Ensure manufactured products meet or exceed quality standards and initiate necessary actions to maintain them.
  • Order and supervise repairs and maintenance of machines and equipment throughout the production area.
  • Maintain accurate records for completed orders, inspection reports, and other documentation.
  • Enforce safety and housekeeping practices and employee training programs; require all personnel to wear appropriate PPE.
  • Implement work schedules to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and materials and assign work to hourly employees.
  • Define and monitor production standards, complete employee performance reviews, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Process parts and components to meet production schedules and advise General Manager and schedulers of difficulties.
  • Report discrepancies in blueprints, specifications, methods, engineering data, and standards to the General Manager.
  • Ensure product quality meets specifications and that personnel perform inspections per standard procedures.
  • Report and investigate incidents in a timely manner.
  • Accurately report personnel time and production via production reports.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with personnel.
  • Administer company policies in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
  • Review and approve payroll for direct reports.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions in assigned areas.
  • Train new employees on department activities and safety procedures.
  • Report to the General Manager and champion various teams and projects to promote continuous improvement.
  • Participate in monthly Safety Leadership Team meetings.
  • Exercise cost control, minimize scrap and rework costs, and support decision‑making affecting all phases of the operation.
  • Collaborate with other supervisory and management personnel and maintain harmonious relations within and between shifts.
  • Support process tanks at required levels of concentrations for quality galvanizing.
  • Work some weekends as needed per operational needs, with schedules communicated in advance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively one‑on‑one and in front of an audience.
  • Strong leadership skills that support divisional business objectives.
  • Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and state and federal labor standards.
  • Experience utilizing an automated time and attendance tracking system.
