The US Communications Head will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies for Nubank in the United States, with a focus on enhancing the company's reputation and visibility among key stakeholders audiences, with a focus on press but supporting investor/analyst, consumers, policymakers, and others. This role encompasses external communications, but will have emerging internal communications expectations and the company evolves its operational presence.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in corporate and brand communications, narrative development, executive staffing, event management, project planning, and issues/crisis management – ideally in large consumer technology companies, preferably in the tech and financial sectors.
The US Comms Head will frequently interact with senior‑most levels of the company, and should have strong experience in senior stakeholder management and cross‑functional alignments, navigating fluently through ambiguous and fast‑evolving situations. The position reports directly to the VP of Communications, and has operational daily management and support from the Global Corporate Communication Director, and the Global Internal Communications Director. As a “market leader”, the candidate will develop local strategies and be hands‑on executor, scrappiness, innovation, media relations and deep knowledge of the US media Landscape and US‑Latino media landscape are required skills.
This professional is expected to master writing and story‑telling, filtering through noise to craft robust and impactful narratives. Additionally this executive will collaborate closely with Global Comms, helping cascade and bridge gaps for both audiences, ensuring alignment with the HQ teams.
This role is based in Miami and adhering to company policy for in‑office attendance.
Key responsibilities and Expectations- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for the US market, positioning Nubank as a global leader in financial technology, focusing both on the corporate and the product announcements.
- Craft and amplify compelling narratives that translate Nubank’s Latin American success and business model for US‑based stakeholders, including media, investors, and analysts.
- Monitor and analyze the US media landscape, including tracking coverage, identifying opportunities and challenges, and managing potential reputational risks.
- Manage a local PR agency, coordinating their deliverables and scope of work. Manage and deliver events with support of external providers.
- Collaborate with the policy team to support creating a favorable regulatory landscape, defending the company’s interests in the public debate.
- Work with HQ communications on how to leverage and staff C‑level executives for increasing global media presence and reputation.
- Act as a strategic advisor for senior leadership, preparing them for media interviews, speaking engagements, and relevant events.
