(Job Summary)
The Senior Manager, Marketing & Business Development is responsible for leading strategic marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, traffic, sales, and incremental revenue for Destin Commons. This role is based out of the corporate office in Aventura, Florida and requires frequent travel to Destin, FL as business needs dictate.
In addition to overseeing all marketing functions, this position plays a critical role in business development-identifying, creating, and executing revenue-generating opportunities through sponsor ships, partnerships, and in-center marketing programs. The Senior Manager works closely with center leadership, leasing, and corporate teams to align marketing strategies with financial and operational objectives while ensuring consistent brand execution.
What You Do:
(Duties/Responsibilities)
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
* Develop and execute the annual marketing plan to support key business objectives, including FFO, sponsorship revenue, leasing, sales, traffic, percentage rent, and market share.
* Oversee brand strategy and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and stakeholder communications.
* Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and risks.
* Partner with the General Manager and Leasing teams to support merchandising strategies and tenant performance.
Business Development & Revenue Generation
* Lead business development efforts by identifying, pitching, and executing sponsor ships, partnerships, and on- and in-center advertising programs.
* Generate incremental marketing revenue through strategic marketing opportunities, promotions, and media partnerships.
* Develop proposals, negotiate agreements, and manage fulfillment of all sponsorship and marketing partnerships.
* Maximize marketing dollars through trade-outs, in-kind agreements, and ROI-driven decision-making.
Advertising, Media & Promotions
* Plan and manage corporate and local advertising campaigns in alignment with brand standards.
* Negotiate media buys and added-value opportunities per corporate guidelines.
* Oversee the production and deployment of in-mall collateral, promotions, and marketing materials.
* Maintain contracts, insurance, and proof-of-performance documentation for agencies, vendors, and partners.
Retailer Engagement & Communications
* Maintain strong relationships with retailers and ensure consistent communication regarding marketing initiatives.
* Secure retailer participation in promotions, exclusive offers, and sales-driving programs.
* Analyze tenant sales reports and implement retail intensification strategies to increase traffic and sales.
* Share relevant sales and market insights with leasing and development teams.
Public Relations, Events & Community Engagement
* Lead public relations and community engagement initiatives to strengthen Destin Commons' market position.
* Manage PR agencies or in-house efforts to secure media coverage and community partnerships.
* Develop and execute a strategic events program designed to increase awareness, traffic, and sales.
* Align brand initiatives with relevant charitable and community organizations.
Digital, Web & Tourism Marketing
* Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including CRM, website management, social media, and online advertising.
* Ensure the property website and digital platforms remain current and compliant with corporate guidelines.
* Lead tourism marketing efforts through partnerships with hotels, visitor bureaus, and travel organizations.
Financial Management
* Create and manage the annual marketing budget, tracking income, expenses, and variances.
* Monitor ROI across all marketing initiatives and optimize spend accordingly.
* Develop strategies to grow sponsorship and advertising revenue, expanding the overall marketing budget.
* Oversee Arts & Entertainment budgets and ensure alignment with the overall marketing strategy.

What You Bring to the Table:
(Requirements)
* Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
* Minimum five years of marketing, management, or advertising experience; shopping center or retail experience preferred
* Proven success in business development, sponsorship sales, and revenue-generating marketing programs.
* Strong knowledge of retail marketing, brand management, digital advertising, and media.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Sound financial acumen, budgeting, and ROI analysis experience.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
