Hybrid Communications Specialist

About the Role

A leading organization in the healthcare sector is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist for a Temp-to-Perm opportunity. This role is responsible for owning and overseeing external communications delivered to a wide range of stakeholders, including members, employees, providers, agents, and business clients.

The Senior Communications Specialist will play a key role in shaping communication strategies, developing high-quality written content, and ensuring consistent, compliant messaging across multiple channels. This is a senior-level communications role, not a junior marketing or social media position, and offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on performance and business need.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, review, and oversee external communications across initiatives, campaigns, emails, publications, and newsletters
• Ensure messaging is clear, accurate, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards and brand voice
• Manage and partner with an external communications agency, including quality control and thorough proofreading
• Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to develop communication strategies and execution plans
• Lead project management efforts for the annual communications calendar and related initiatives
• Coordinate events, press conferences, and media requests as needed
• Support crisis communications and public relations solutions when required
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master's degree preferred
• Major in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
• 6-10 years of experience in a communications-focused role
• Demonstrated expertise in writing, copywriting, editing, and managing complex communications projects
• Experience managing email, SMS (text), and other digital communication campaigns end to end
• Experience supporting organizational change initiatives preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered
