The Children’s Movement of Florida is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern for Fall 2026 (September - December), based at our Miami headquarters.
This is an opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, social media, and storytelling to gain hands‑on experience supporting the communications work of a statewide nonprofit focused on early childhood and family well‑being.
The intern will work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to develop and share stories, campaigns, social media content, newsletters, digital communications, and event materials that engage parents, educators, business leaders, community partners, policymakers, and the broader Florida community.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and implementing social media content for Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and other platforms.
- Write and edit social media captions, newsletters, website content, emails, and other communications materials.
- Research topics, news, trends, and stories related to early childhood, education, families, workforce, health, and public policy.
- Support communications and marketing campaigns for organizational initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts.
- Help identify and develop stories that highlight the impact of The Children’s Movement and its partners and community.
- Assist with content creation, including short‑form videos, graphics, slideshows, reels, and other digital materials.
- Support event and campaign promotion and attend meetings and community events as needed.
- Monitor social media and communications trends and bring new ideas to the team.
- Provide occasional administrative and organizational support.
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, media, digital communications, or storytelling.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Ability to adapt writing and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, video editing, photography, or other content creation tools is a plus.
- Experience creating content or managing social media for an organization, publication, student group, nonprofit, or personal project is a plus.
What You Will Gain
Hands‑on experience in marketing and communications, social media, storytelling, campaign development, digital marketing, event communications, and communications for advocacy and public policy.
20 hours per week, $15.00 per hour, and a 3-month commitment (September 21 - December 18).
