Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full time Development Officer.
The Development Officer plays a key role in building community and raising funds for Scheck Hillel Community School, focusing on several main donor constituencies, including parents and Business Partners. Fundraising is a primary responsibility of this role, along with creating meaningful engagement opportunities that strengthen donor relationships and support the school’s mission.
The Development Officer works closely with the Chief Institutional Advancement Officer (CIAO) and members of the Development team to identify donors with capacity and develop cultivation strategies for each prospect within these constituencies. This team member also manages corporate giving through the Business Partnership Program and maintains relationships with institutional funders supporting Scheck Hillel.

- Fundraising & Donor Portfolio Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of parent and community donors
- Renew and increase annual gifts
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors
- Provide thoughtful and timely stewardship
- Lead and expand the Business Partnership Program
- Manage renewals and identify new corporate prospects
- Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and donor recognition
- Develop creative strategies to grow parent‑owned business engagement
- Partner with senior leadership and volunteer solicitors
- Support donor cultivation, solicitations, and follow‑up
- Prepare donor briefings, materials, and meeting logistics
- Track naming opportunities and stewardship steps
- Ensure accurate documentation and pipeline management
- Collaborate with Admissions to identify high‑capacity families
- Build a long‑term pipeline of future major donors
- Maintain detailed donor records and strategy notes
- Support planning and execution of Development events
- Promote sponsorship opportunities
- Coordinate donor recognition at school events
- Attend parent‑facing events and milestone celebrations
- Coordinate donor recognition for theatre, commencement, and special programs
- Execute consistent donor touches including thank‑you notes and milestone acknowledgments
- Process gifts and pledges accurately
- Maintain database integrity and financial tracking
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, and donor communications
- Support Development Committee and Board reporting needs
- Integrate fundraising opportunities into school events
- Partner across departments to support institutional goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
