Location: Preference for candidates in South Florida, NYC, and DC. Highly qualified candidates in other locations are also considered.
Travel: Up to 30%
Position SummaryThe Development Associate will assist and support the general functions of the Development department in the areas of Institutional Giving, Major Gifts, and Annual Giving with specific attention given to grant writing, donor stewardship, and data services. The ideal candidate for this position is new to or recently started in philanthropy and would like to get experience in the full range of philanthropic specializations.
ResponsibilitiesInstitutional Giving
- Manage relationships with a portfolio of institutional and corporate funders.
- Assist the Director of Institutional Giving by identifying corporate and foundation prospects for general operating and program specific grants.
- Maintain accurate records of awards and contact with funders in Raiser’s Edge NXT and across internal trackers.
- Grant narrative writing, development, reviews, and submissions.
- Manage a portfolio of major gifts and mid-level donors.
- Assist the Chief Development Officer in the production of materials and resources for donor stewardship.
- Ensure that donors to the Task Force receive appropriate and timely acknowledgment for their gifts.
- Maintain accurate records of donations and contact with donors in Raiser’s Edge NXT and across internal trackers.
- Manage the calendar for annual giving appeals to include direct mail and digital solicitations.
- Execute annual giving campaign plans under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer.
- Create messaging for digital fundraising appeals through email and social media.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit sponsor ships from institutional, corporate, and individual donors for the Task Force’s three signature events – Creating Change, the Task Force Gala, and Winter Party Festival.
- Organize and execute regional House Party fundraising events.
- Assist with stewardship of the Task Force Board of Directors.
