As a VISTA, you will support emergency food and food literacy programs. You will carry out components of the Food Literacy In People program at partner schools, after-school programs, and with other community partners. You will build partnerships to sustain and expand food literacy and improved nutrition efforts for children, youth, and seniors facing food insecurity to achieve healthy outcomes. You will perform a variety of assigned duties to operate the Mobile Pantry Program and Community Choice Market, including: food procurement and stocking processes, awareness building, partner communications, conducting surveys and data collection, and reporting on program utilization and individuals served.
You will develop program capacity for increasing the distribution of fresh food at the Mobile Pantries and the Community Choice Market, including food rescue, food drives, and food donations from other fresh food partners. You will assist with planning and executing events where you represent the emergency food programs and FLIP.
