About Catholic Charities
As one of the largest non-governmental providers of social services in South Florida, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc. has continuously adapted services to meet the changing needs of South Florida's most vulnerable populations since 1931.
Today, we provide a variety of services for the elderly; shelter and care for unaccompanied children and youth; quality early childhood education for low-income families; parent education services, housing services for individuals and families; homelessness prevention services; counseling and substance abuse treatment; and acculturation services for refugees and new entrants.
Catholic Charities currently has programs in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.
Volunteer Opportunity:Matthew 25 Food Pantry
Serves Miami-Dade County families who are struggling to cover their monthly food expenses.
The walk-up food distribution takes place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday each month between 7am - 12pm. You can arrive as early as 6:45am and join our team for the day.
Dates- May 2nd
- May 16th
- June 6th
- June 20th
- Handing out grocery food and beverages
- Lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 25lbs or less
- Engaging respectfully with the families we serve
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on service and making a direct impact in the community.
Proof of community service hours can be provided upon request.
Make sure to dress comfortably with closed toed shoes as you will be on your feet!
