Position: Fall 2026 Anti-Trafficking Community Engagement Intern - UNPAID

Job Overview

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Community Engagement & Match Raising Intern as part of its Florida Anti‑Trafficking team. This unpaid internship supports IRC’s anti‑trafficking programs in Miami and Tallahassee by building community partnerships, collecting community engagement data, and ensuring compliance with donor match requirements.

Scope of Work

Work closely with the Safety & Wellness Program Manager and local Anti‑Trafficking teams to strengthen IRC’s ability to meet client needs. Responsibilities include resource development, community engagement, external communications, event planning, and fundraising support.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with resource development needs: community engagement, external communications, event planning, and fundraising.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date data across relevant databases.
  • Collect and record community engagement prospect information.
  • Attend community engagement events, information sessions, staff meetings, and staff development programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Interest in international affairs and refugee/immigrant issues.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Creativity and initiative to follow through on projects.
  • Strong desire to help people and enthusiasm to work in a multi‑cultural setting.
  • Good time‑management skills.
  • Submit intern hours on the volunteer dashboard.
Requirements
  • Commit to 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months (preferred through Spring
    2026).
  • Submit intern hours on the volunteer portal.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Turn 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided.
  • In‑person role.
