Position: Executive Director - Greater Miami and The Keys

Executive Director – Greater Miami & Keys Chapter

This is a leadership position within the Greater Miami and the Keys Chapter of the American Red Cross. The Executive Director serves as the primary community‑facing leader, working with cross‑functional teams and external partners to advance humanitarian impact, revenue, volunteer recruitment, blood collection, and community resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the community‑facing leader maximizing the Red Cross presence and recognition in the community.
  • Bridge silos across the organization to build a coordinated community response.
  • Coordinate stewardship across Programs, Communications, and Fundraising.
  • Participate in the Regional Leadership Team to support regional goals for program delivery, revenue, volunteer engagement, blood collection, and community engagement.
  • Lead the chapter planning process and drive progress toward plan objectives.
  • Engage cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to co‑create chapter plans with shared outcomes, roles, and accountability.
  • Use data and community voice to prioritize secondary services, closing gaps and strengthening resilience.
  • Support revenue targets and meet individual fundraising targets in partnership with the Chief Development Officer.
  • Recruit, develop, and support philanthropy committee members who have philanthropic influence in the community.
  • Manage strategic relationships with local elected officials, key community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Serve on the Elected Officials Liaison Network and support disaster responses locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Develop, support, and ensure the success of the Chapter Board of Directors.
  • Develop, lead, and manage a cadre of community volunteer leaders who serve as the face of the Red Cross in assigned territories.
  • Support mission capacity building by partnering with community stakeholders and supporting volunteer recruitment.
  • Partner with Communications and Fundraising teams to align messaging, stewardship, and campaign execution.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated fundraising experience, including donor engagement and revenue generation.
  • Able to work effectively in a team.
  • Travel as needed throughout the chapter jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong connection and understanding of the local community.
  • Familiarity with local networks and existing community relationships.
  • Bilingual Spanish (plus) is a plus.
