Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Director for an established nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for affordable home ownership and strengthening communities. This full-time, exempt position is onsite in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Development Director will lead strategic fundraising initiatives with a focus on individual giving, major donor engagement, and revenue growth. This role will cultivate and steward high-value donor relationships, develop fundraising strategies, and drive significant annual philanthropic goals in support of an impactful mission. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven fundraising professional with strong donor engagement skills and a passion for advancing meaningful community impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans focused on securing major individual gifts and expanding philanthropic support.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 qualified donor and prospect relationships through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Conduct donor meetings, visits, and engagement activities to build meaningful, long-term relationships.
  • Partner with board members, organizational leaders, and colleagues to identify prospects and advance major gift opportunities.
  • Create compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and communications that effectively share the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Maintain accurate fundraising activity records, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasts while achieving annual fundraising goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated success cultivating donor-centered relationships resulting in significant individual gifts.
  • Experience managing complex fundraising initiatives and securing major commitments.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with executives, board members, donors, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, writing, and storytelling skills with the ability to inspire and persuade.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and travel locally for donor engagement.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $125,000–$130,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, disability coverage, life insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, holidays, mileage reimbursement, and cell phone support.
