About The Allapattah Collaborative CDC

The Allapattah Collaborative CDC (ACDC) builds an Allapattah economy that works for everyone while preserving the neighborhood’s cultural heritage. We help small businesses and individuals gain the knowledge, resources, and opportunities they need for economic mobility, ownership, and long-term stability.

Our work includes business coaching, community engagement, advocacy, pathways to ownership, and initiatives that strengthen the cultural and economic stability of the Allapattah community.

The role

The Community Navigator serves as a trusted bridge between ACDC and the community. You will connect entrepreneurs, small business owners, residents, and nonprofit organizations with financial, educational, and business-development resources.

This is a hands‑on, community‑facing role for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving practical problems, and helping people move from interest to action. You will provide outreach, client support, technical assistance, referrals, follow‑up, and program coordination across ACDC’s services and events.

What you’ll do
  • Conduct outreach in commercial corridors, community spaces, and local events.
  • Build relationships with small business owners, residents, nonprofit organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead client intake, orientation, and initial assessments.
  • Provide one-on-one technical assistance to entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members.
  • Help clients navigate business compliance requirements at the State of Florida and local levels.
  • Guide clients through grant, loan, and other funding applications, including collecting documents and completing application steps.
  • Connect clients with financial, educational, technology, and community resources.
  • Help clients use online banking platforms, virtual meeting tools, mobile apps, and digital business tools.
  • Coordinate workshops, masterclasses, training programs, community meetings, and special events.
  • Support ACDC programs and initiatives, including Censo, Festival del Plátano, Smithsonian partnerships, and special projects.
  • Maintain accurate client records, technical‑assistance hours, participation data, and funding‑application documentation.
  • Help prepare program reports, presentations, and updates for internal teams and funders.
  • Support outreach content and communications across digital and community channels.
  • Help coordinate volunteers and neighborhood activation activities.
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an entrepreneur or in a role delivering programs and services to small businesses or community members.
  • Experience providing technical assistance, training, or direct support to small businesses is preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and community‑engagement skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities.
  • Comfort working independently and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with computers, Google Workspace, social media, and common digital tools.
  • A deep commitment to economic and social justice.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency is preferred.
Work environment

This is a full‑time hybrid role. Team members work from the Miami office 3 days each week and travel regularly throughout the Miami area for outreach, events, meetings, and community engagement.

Benefits
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Meaningful work supporting community‑based economic development
