The Associate Nurse Manager reports directly to the Nurse Manager and oversees daily operations of the assigned shift, ensuring proper care is provided to all patients. The Associate Nurse Manager is accountable for high quality, safe nursing care, staff competency, and resource management. They must ensure services align with organizational policies, demonstrate fiscal responsibility, and support strategic operations of the unit.
The Associate Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in staff meetings, regulatory compliance, and maintaining patient care standards.
Strategic Vision: Work with leadership to support Jackson Health System’s mission and quality service commitment.
People Leadership: Improve employee engagement, hold staff accountable, provide mentorship, and lead huddles. Participate in LEAN/Process improvement and union collaboration.
Service Excellence: Model nursing process, round on patients, monitor handoffs, and support education and training.
Organizational Impact: Partner with managers and providers to meet patient disposition goals and maintain positive relationships.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze trends, suggest changes, and support quality metrics.
Operational Excellence: Participate in budget planning, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
ExperienceGenerally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience; management experience strongly preferred.
EducationBachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
